Market Research Analyst

Our large financial services client located in Windsor, CT is looking for a Marketing Research Analyst for a contract opportunity – 3 months minimum and potentially up to 6 months. Additionally there is a potential permanent position available for those interested/qualified. This person will be responsible for:

- Researching, analyzing and reporting on competitive intelligence data.

- Delivering high quality and timely research and constructive analyses and recommendations.

- Building and maintaining internal client relationships and initiatives in support of business goals and objectives.

- Ensure the quality and usability of the information delivered in research reports.

- Strive to understand the organizations various business models and strategic needs.

- Provide strategic perspective through fact based analysis. Handle independently assigned tasks and short term projects.

- Review and develop product positioning, as well as market tracking and measuring the current attitudes and awareness of customers.

- Conduct qualitative and quantitative primary market research; collecting, managing and analyzing data from the marketplace and delivering recommendations to sales and marketing management.


- Prepare competitive assessments.

- Determine the most appropriate market research method to utilize based on the business issue to be resolved and to provide decision-making information for setting marketing and sales directions.

- Participate in development of sales ideas and provide support to other marketing staff on implementation. Participate on marketing and sales teams.

- Review sales support material and provide input on sales ideas and competitive issues.

Qualifications:

MUST HAVE skills using SPSS Statistical software, Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint are required. Experience with online survey tools (e.g., SurveyGizmo) is preferred. Experience with data tabulation tools (e.g., MarketSight software) is a plus. Financial services experience is also a plus.

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent experience
3 - 5 years market research, business/competitive intelligence experience.
2+ years experience using advanced statistical techniques.
Experience with research methods such as multiple regression factor analysis, cluster analysis, choice modeling and online applications.
