Market Intelligence Analyst

A great opportunity has arisen to work for a major player in the IT industry? They are a progressive and exciting global organisation. This role in their Market Intelligence team supports the UK business and leadership teams with analysis and insights focused on the PC, server and software markets.
Key responsibilities for this role include:

• Analyse PC, server and software market information to develop and deliver insights to UK business stakeholders
• Identify trends, opportunities and threats
• Contribute to growth and opportunity sizing, and longer term planning
• Maintain and enhance regular analysis reports and deliverables
• Liaise and work effectively with external suppliers including industry analyst firms and market research agencies
• Help manage the documents and reports published on the internal team MI site
• Assist in developing and managing primary research projects
• Provide responsive support to ad hoc queries and requests

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

1) Essential Experience

• Strong analytical experience, ideally with a strong base in the technology industry and in B2B
• Ability to source, integrate, structure, and analyse large amounts of data from multiple sources
• Strong analysis and research skills including experience with both qualitative and quantitative methodologies
• Ability to work and collaborate effectively with colleagues and suppliers at all seniority levels
• Experience of summarizing & presenting complex insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders
• Familiarity with primary research management, including the selection, briefing, and management of research vendors
• Track record of working successfully within large, matrixed organisation
Desired Skills & Experience

What the ‘ideal’ candidate will look like :

Key skills are these:
• Must be very comfortable with numbers, business data (but does not need to be a BI/analytics guru, a statistician or a techie!)
• Ability to locate, analyse and critically assess available sources of information (data and qualitative facts/opinion) to make best assessment and recommendations
• Ability to manage multiple competing requests and priorities, and continuously reprioritise as necessary
• Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels of the company, and over time earn the position of trusted advisor to key stakeholders
• Ability to effectively engage with and leverage external analyst sources and other external suppliers/parties
• Must be able to work to, and meet, tight deadlines
• Must maintain ultra high quality standards across all projects and requests
• Must be confident, must be personable
• Must have strong work ethic and constantly strive to improve what we do and how we do it (including challenging old ways of doing things, in some cases)
• Must be able and determined to learn, develop and progress in the role
• We are looking for someone with the right attitude and aptitude, and with capability and aspiration to grow, above all else

Most likely this would need to be someone with 5-10 years business experience
