Marcom Managing Director

We are seeking a high-level Marcom Managing Director for our Charlotte-based client. This position is with an agency however your focus would be on one main account -- almost as if you were part of their in-house creative team. This would be a to-hire position (looking at about a 2-week contract period). The managing director will lead a marcom staff in the Charlotte and Portland offices, and be the lead interface with one main account --offering client leadership on day-to-day marketing operations and planning. The director will demonstrate organizational leadership, strategic planning and operational efficiency for the internal marketing communications team. Leadership responsibilities include daily operations, hiring and development of staff, process improvements and strategic partnership with other disciplines.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: >Lead and direct multiple teams in a fast-paced environment. >Develop and mentor staff. >Ensure training is in place for best practices, from intake of new work through quality assurance and final delivery. >Ensure teams develop, implement and adhere to effective account/business plans, including budgeting and resource planning to support their assigned projects. >Ensure teams are knowledgeable about their clients’ work and styles, resulting in positive client relationships. >Review and approve budgets. >Ensure all marcom work meets or exceeds clients’ business objectives, within brand guidelines and on schedule. >Analyze data and results, providing insights to respective project teams during and at the end of projects, programs and campaigns. >Resolve conflict and bottleneck issues, ensuring that teams are viewed as trusted partners. >Demonstrate a solid understanding of production processes such as project initiation, budgeting, project workflow and opening jobs and estimates, ultimately enabling efficient workflow. >Forecast and manage workflow and staffing requirements.
Conversant in process accounting systems and reports. >Understand and manage to all company policies and procedures, consistently adhere to company administrative responsibilities including daily timesheets, expense reports, performance reviews, forecasting and accounts receivable. >Establish partnership and results-driven relationships with channel and brand management. >Bring forth business-building ideas, marketing insight and solutions for clients. >Possess deep knowledge of clients’ business, industries, competitive landscapes and sales/distribution channels, as well as marketing needs and expectations. >Act as change agent/impact player from both internal and external perspectives, contributing to clients’ performance by making sound recommendations that positively influence the business. >Provide industry insights, business analysis, strategy, ROI projections, analytics and/or campaign plans. >Work collaboratively with company leadership to ensure suitability of internal and external resources required to achieve clients’ needs.
