An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented Managing Editor to work at the UK's biggest and most respected commercial radio station.

Overall Purpose and Objectives:

You will be responsible for growing digital audience by delivering an interactive web and mobile proposition that will help drive audience to the website.

You will lead the end-to-end development and creation of content and effectively run the various interactive platforms including websites and apps delivering artist, radio show, presenter, lifestyle and music news content.

You’ll be obsessed with building a great experience every day for our audience and who can deliver on our editorial objectives.

What you will be doing:

You’ll manage the operational success of the interactive products offering leadership and direction to the interactive editorial team with stakeholder support from and for the broadcast team, the marketing team, partners and content suppliers.

You will support the on air output by:

Working with broadcast teams to define and produce innovative on-air / on-line ideas that will both increase on-air listening and on-line traffic

Work with broadcast teams to ensure that relevant audio, video and picture content is captured in a way that can be surfaced easily across all our platforms

Updating the station schedule, presenter information and incorporate guest content onto the website at every opportunity

You will create and maintain the editorial plan for the client in conjunction with the broadcast team to produce a short-term and annual planner. Deliver this into the wider interactive team to share content ideas, techniques and improve efficiencies across the group.

You will deliver content that is topical, timely, exciting and engaging.

Ensure that the website is kept refreshed, relevant to the on air activity and drives user interaction through exciting features, audio, video, pictures and other relevant music content.

Ensure that supporting content for platforms such as Digital Radio and Mobile Apps.

You will work with the Commercial team to create, commission and use compelling content to increase traffic to maximise revenue opportunities.

You will play a key role in Social Media strategy and work with our in-house Social Media/Community expertise to deliver a best-in-class community strategy.

You will work with the online marketing team to engage the users with regular newsletters, customer communication and associated reporting to grow audience and database.

Actively work with UED, Design and the Product team to specify and input into the broader Global product roadmap. Be confident in defining requirements for new features and components that can ideally be shared across the group.

Ensure the website complies with editorial guidelines on quality, style, usability, navigation, content architecture and is optimised for search engines.

You will own the day to day operations, development, page impressions, customer satisfaction and advocacy of Interactive. This includes maintaining the schedule, manage the stats reporting, tracking of key metrics and constantly refining traffic acquisition tactics.

What we expect of you:

- A compelling and self-starting editorial leader with a track record in great digital content.

- Management and Leadership experience.

- An obsessive attention to detail.

- Proven track record of developing and managing compelling interactive products.

- Thorough understanding of interactive media and their relation to traditional media

- Relevant brand experience would be ideal

- Ability to multi-task and manage / maximise project and opportunities in a mixed media environment

- Editorial strategy experience, preferably within a fast-moving entertainment business

- Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
