Vitamin T has an exciting contract to hire position available at one of Seattle's outstanding digital agencies.



We’re looking for someone to wrangle a talented herd of writers and content creators to help

make their work as effective and camera-ready as humanly possible. When the going gets

tricky because of competing priorities, your cool head and calm hand on the reigns will help

ensure a top-notch customer experience (as well as help you build a strong relationship with

your colleagues). Your excellent judgment and understanding of the market and our clients (and

their customers) is critical for you to help content generators create content that will serve client

needs.


Responsibilities:

• Operate as air-traffic control and quality assurance for a team of in-house and freelance

writers and editors to ensure that work product is completed on time and in accordance

with Portent’s standards of quality.

• Manage the monthly copy and content strategy deliverable planning process to match

client needs with our in-house and available freelance resources.

• Recruit, retain and manage work product from our team of freelance writers and editors.

• Operate as a quality coach for colleagues, to help them improve the quality of their

written deliverables and learn how to reduce the edits necessary on future projects.

• Ensure consistency of voice and tone in Portent’s written marketing deliverables,

working with cross-divisional partners in marketing and creative (and beyond).

• Maintain the Portent blog calendar and ensure all blog posts adhere to Portent’s

standards for quality.

• Develop governance guidelines for ensuring consistent, useful and relevant creation,

maintenance and expiration of content on the Portent website.

Competencies

● Impeccable organizational and project management skills

● Excellent attention to detail, copyediting, and writing skills, and the ability to generate

polished, publishable, client-ready copy on tight schedules

● A working knowledge of and interest in content marketing performance metrics and

content performance analysis

● Experience working in online marketing in-house with brands and in an agency setting

● Comfort operating within a rapidly growing and changing organization, especially in a

role where you’ll be juggling multiple stakeholders

● Ability to manage and coach a team of freelance and in-house writers to ensure delivery

of top-notch work product

● Ability to mediate constructive solutions to conflicts that arise.


Minimal Qualifications:

● 2+ years of experience as an integrated marketing copywriter and / or editor

● 2+ years of experience working with Wordpress-based blogs

● 1+ year of experience coordinating writers

● Familiarity with SEO best practices in content and copy
