Managing Director

Be a hero in 2014! This is an incredible opportunity to use your relationship building skills and experience managing creative teams to develop a new account we expect to be our fastest growing client this year.

The Managing Director will lead the transition and launch of the Aquent Studios outsourcing solution for our client’s formerly internal creative services team. The Managing Director will be the key relationship manager with the client’s vendor managers and other client management teams. With P&L responsibility for the account, the Managing Director will lead the client engagement and ongoing growth of the account.

The Managing Director will be tasked with expanding the scope of services outsourced to Aquent Studios through rigorous business development efforts – targeting business units beyond the current creative services internal customer base - with the expectation that this will be a multi-million dollar account by 2015. This will require extensive time on-site navigating the client organization and identifying and winning new opportunities.



Principal Accountabilities

  • Manage current and build new relationships with key client stakeholders, Build confidence across the organization to expand utilization of the Aquent team.
  • Drive business growth throughout the account: through existing and new relationships
  • Develop clearly defined roles and responsibilities – aligned to standard operating procedures
  • Assist with identifying and retaining most appropriately skilled talent and on boarding new core/flex talent as needed
  • Take the lead in solving service delivery problems, accurately identifying issues, offering and implementing solutions
  • Provide ongoing leadership and training to the team with a focus on client services and account building
  • Conduct formal performance reviews, offer professional development and set new objectives annually


Experience/Skills
  • Demonstrated skills in business development for enterprise solutions opportunities with large corporations. Energy industry experience preferred.
  • Direct management experience of team comprised of 10 or more. Experience managing a client-dedicated team creative team (internal or outsourced) is a significant plus. Ten+ years’ experience in a creative environment with previous experience managing B2B or Internal Communications in a corporate environment.
  • The ability to assess workloads/project volume and resource needs to maintain optimal utilization rates.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills and ability to effectively articulate ideas to client management and stakeholders
  • Experience in building/implementing effective processes. Proven track record of showing improvement in cost, quality and cycle time metrics in a creative environment is a significant plus.
  • Strong background and understanding of Macintosh/Design systems, photography, and print production
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
