MODIFIED TO ADD: Successful applicant will have minimum 2 years as a DIRECTOR OF A LIVE BROADCAST.
Seeking: Experienced, creative, technically-savvy, outside-the-box thinking Director/Producer. Candidate must possess 3-5 years professional broadcast experience and excellent communication and organizational skills. Must work under pressure and be willing to deal with several changes during a live broadcast/streaming video. Has to be a team player and a team leader. Candidate must have recent experience calling and switching live broadcasts. We broadcast for the TX Lottery twice a day, six times a week - schedule will be determined on a weekly basis but expect 40-45 hours per week. As needed, must be able to work mornings, nights, Saturday, holidays and overtime.
You will direct daily drawings for TX Lottery in fully-staffed TV station downtown Austin.

It's a broad skill set and the right person is part director, part producer, part engineer, part manager, part client relations pro.

Certainly one of the most important parts of the job is maintaining a cool head and assuring that the broadcast will go off without error every single time. That comes largely from good depth of experience, great confidence with technical operations, and the intuition to anticipate challenges before they present. This is a very short show that leaves little room for error. You know the old joke... something about hours and hours of extreme boredom punctuated by seconds of sheer terror. Again, for the right person this will seem normal.

The right candidate will be someone who learns very quickly, and can rapidly gain confidence in the daily operation. They'll work well with our team, but will need to think and act independently. The crew is small and they are very much in control of and responsible for the show. The client wants every show to be the same every time - and perfect every time.
Skills needed:
1. technical - direction, production, engineering, video editing knowledge. problem-solver
2. managerial/people skills - also client-facing, reliable. manage staff, client and process
3. project lead - make decisions under pressure

Mac/PC literate
News/broadcast experience preferable 3-5 years
Job starts mid-August.

Qualified candidates should provide resume, hourly and annual salary rates and preferably a DVD copy or link to most recent work.
