Manager of Account Services

The Manager of Account Services will drive collaboration among internal marketing and e commerce business partners and the advertising creative team. This role oversees the strategic development of advertising projects including, sales-collateral, catalog/printed materials, and interactive promotions to support the division.

1. Responsible for the relationships with internal marketing and ecommerce team, serving as main point-of-contact within the internal advertising agency. Manager will develop strong working relationships with marketing and ecommerce leadership, to set and manage expectations and gain insight into how the project plans impact overall sales goals. This advertising account team supports several aspects of the business including; office products, facilities, technology, furniture, print services, promotional products, field marketing, business development and key supplier initiatives.

2. Evaluate and establish actionable advertising strategies based on marketing objectives, past results and competitive marketing conditions. Ensure brand guidelines are adhered to within the assigned work. Differentiate messaging based on the specific business personas. Act as liaison between internal creative team and any contracted external resources. Work with marketing team to propose, when appropriate, external agency resources and facilitate any required feedback/approvals through creative development.

3. Grow and lead the professional development of your account team. Work with your team to provide job assignment/scope and workload balancing to ensure that the project objectives, budgets and timelines can be met. You will be required to oversee the prioritization, coordination and execution of multiple project schedules at one time. You will work with other Account Managers to determine and incorporate best practices and process improvements to maintain overall account team efficiencies.

4. Attend creative review meetings with key decision makers and creative team members. Coach your team through these meetings focusing on presentation skills, agenda/set up, and communicating key decisions. Provide project follow up and support through the completion of projects.

5. Partner with Staples Advantage International marketing and US based Global Branding team to share best practices and provide examples of creative executions for leverage by their individual execution team.

• Possesses understanding of corporate business environment and demonstrates good decision making skills: escalate conflicting issues when they arise, possess knowledge of how and when to follow through on issues and what method is most appropriate.
• Seeks manager input on decisions but prepares by having a potential solution in mind.
• Demonstrates integrity, maturity and a constructive approach to challenge.

• Bachelor Degree Required.
• 5 to 7 years of management work experience required.
• Previous Agency Experience with a focus on b-to-b business a plus.
• Exceptional communication and people management skills.
