Manager, Trade Marketing

We are looking for a Trade Marketing Manager that has experience in the travel and trade industry, for a perm position in Miami, FL. The right candidate must have previous experience in the travel and trade industry and must have a high education level. Please email tmcmurray@aquent.com

Manage the development of strategy, messaging and execution of a major travel companies trade marketing programs for business-to-business audience designed to drive demand via the travel agency channel. Oversee development of new travel agent web portal, trade advertising, education program, marketing platform, trade collateral materials, trade emails and trade marketing budget. Collaborate with Sales in developing top accounts.
Work with Vice President Relationship Marketing to define positioning and strategy of programs and communications for travel agents, meeting planners, and other business-to-business (BTB) audiences. Develop annual marketing plan, annual budget and lead new program development.

Manage the building of travel agent web portal that will serve as central location for trade to access all relevant tools, information, and content needed to promote and sell their travel products. Establish overall strategy and develop phased plan for launch of the portal that details phases, business dependencies, and identifies resource and budget implications. Lead content development process partnering with internal departments.
Develop advertising briefs for development of trade advertising campaigns. Provide direction to agency for creative development and initial direction for media planning & insertions. Manage review process and share with key constituencies for final approval.
Manage and continually optimize the developments of company University by overseeing the approval and execution of new courses.
Oversee the development and communication of all marketing campaign initiatives such as printed collateral, trade program and media planning and insertions.
Maintain internal communications with key departments to ensure innovative and consistent product development and messaging.
Supervise the daily responsibilities of the trade marketing team.


Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
Minimum 7 years experience in marketing (corporate or agency) and at least 4 years of demonstrable experience in a leadership position. Cruise or travel industry experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Expert knowledge of advertising and marketing principles.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills to produce and develop effective trade communications and marketing campaigns.
Excellent negotiation, analytical and budgeting skills.
Strong command of e-communication technologies and knowledge developing online marketing tools. Intermediate level working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Strong leadership skills to manage team effectively with ability to coach and develop team members accordingly. Ability to easily adapt to and manage change and to thrive in a busy environment with multiple deadlines. Interpersonal skills to work successfully in a team-based environment and cross-departmental role.
Must be detail oriented and organized in order to manage multiple projects.
