Manager, Licensing Softlines - 3898259

Our client is seeking a Marketing Manager for the Licensing Softlines team. The Marketing Manager, Licensing Softlines will be responsible for the following:

• Negotiates contracts as well as amendments and renewals; monitors contractual obligations
• Conducts financial and market analysis of product categories to make recommendations on partnership and product development strategies.
• Analyzes retail and competitive landscape, and stays current in marketplace trends, to define product positioning and identify new opportunities.
• Builds and manages ongoing relationships with licensees and other business partners; monitors licensee/partner P&L and performance and identifies opportunities for growth and/or contract renewals
• Maintains communication with key partners to understand performance/trends business opportunities and issues; drives innovation with key partners
• Oversees product development process to ensure products from or for assigned licensees/partners meet brand standards and timelines; processes approvals for products to ensure consistent presentation across all licensees/partners
• Collaborates with licensees to resolve distribution, product development and product performance issues and assists licensees to achieve financial goals; acts as liaison between outside partners and internal departments
• Educates licensees & other business partners about proper brand image & visual representation; ensures marketing synergies & brand alignment between product & Licensing
• Leads the development and implementation of marketing and other programs to enable licensing business to meet/ exceed objectives
• Partners with the marketing teams, retail teams and other functions to ensure synergy and optimal impact.
• Assists in various activities including marketing, PR, retail development, event management, and buyer relationships
• May be responsible for the management and professional development of one employee

Skills:
• Minimum of 5 years experience in consumer or brand marketing
• General understanding of the business objectives related to marketing/brand management
• Expertise in the product development process in regards to Softlines categories
• Demonstrated understanding of standard marketing techniques
• Ability to foster relationships in a highly matrixed organization
• Ability to differentiate and create compelling positioning statements and relevance for our consumers and customers
• Ability to work with multiple brands and across multiple categories
• Understanding of annual financial plans; comfort with numbers and analysis required
• Ability to provide insights to product and packaging development teams and give feedback on concepts in an effective and constructive manner
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of the retail landscape
• Thorough understanding of licensing processes and procedures as well as laws and regulations.
• Strong knowledge of licensing industry, especially in softlines categories
• General understanding of the organizational structure and business objectives of licensees and other key business partners
• Effective negotiation skills
• Effective analytical skills as it relates to managing the business

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field preferred
