Manager, Interior Design

Our client is looking for an interior designer who can manage and oversee multiple projects. The opportunity is contract-to-hire and comes with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, and dental insurance as well as flexible spending accounts and a 401k.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains and implements interior design standards content documentation in all brand standards.

• Supports brand quality by traveling to property sites for required kick-off and other follow-up meetings to review, approve and consult with hotel properties and third party consultants in the implementation of existing PIP’s to ensure hotel interior design development and execution meets brand standards for function, performance and style direction/design.

• Ensures timely properties’ submittals and Interior Design review responsiveness by developing and managing communications in the execution of design and renovations aligned to the properties’ existing PIP’s.

• Researches, develops and implements interior design solutions relevant to each brand’s identity and strategic direction. Evaluates current standards to identify and recommend opportunities for product improvement and/or value engineering.

• Manages and supports development of brand initiatives as required or requested.

• Formulates product specifications in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing in the development, selection and implementation of product solutions as required or requested.

• Maintains competitive advantage through effective research and awareness of consumer, industry and supplier trends.

• Conducts competitive research by facilitating the collection, documentation and analysis of interior product offerings from competitors.

• Pursues opportunities for growth and learning through participation in training, seminars and industry trade shows as applicable.

• Collaborative in a team environment.

• Perform other duties as required or requested.


Communications:

• Must possess excellent written and oral presentation skills and the ability to communicate ideas effectively to both senior management and other third party consultants with which the company may team.

• Ability to write design reviews, reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, cross functional teams and customers.

• Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to become involved in a number of projects in a fast paced work environment.

• Proficient computer skills with use of Microsoft office applications and AutoCAD software


Required Qualifications

• BS/BA Degree from accredited college or university in Interior Design or related field.

• Certified Interior Designer.

• Minimum 5-8 years experience in design and management.

• Minimum 3-5 years experience supplier relations.

• Demonstrated knowledge of hotel FF&E and OS&E manufacturing, distribution and procurement processes.

• Hotel experience preferred.

• Ability to travel up to 50%
