Manager E-Learning Programs (contract)

The Manager of Academic E-Learning Programs will manage this strategic initiative that includes state-of-the-art multimedia to deliver education and academic programs to all constituents. A major component of the role is to stay current with emerging media, i.e., internet social networking to expand academic programs. The Manager will interact with hospital employees, physicians, and program consumers and will directly report to the AVP of Education & Academic Affairs for all programmatic and administrative functions.

Scope of Responsibility

• Design and manage effective work flows for education technology utilization
• Plan resources required to support approved e-Learning Program (i.e. live webcast, on-demand webcast, podcasts, YouTube™ videos) including: budget, event agenda, client expectations, process to acquire consent forms and ensure copyright material
• Oversee pre-production phase
o Determine design selection for media capture and slide layout; security and registration process; surveys (pre/post tests and evaluations); live event set design; distribution for link/on-demand capture; determination of AV capture needs (lighting, space and shot list)
o Develop storyboard/script for live webcast
o Develop help desk resource needs/script for Coordinator to facilitate
• Oversee post production phase
o Review Mediasite capture and formatting, raw footage, time-coding, updates, re-shoots (if needed/able);
o Lead post production phase with team to review and complete edits; send final content to identified program editor/editorial review board member as determined
• Oversee presentation distribution
o Work in collaboration with Education Communications and Publications Team, and respective Education Departments to develop e-Marketing plans and implementation; develop and implement strategic use of social network platforms
o Assist with professional online networking opportunities
• Administrative Oversight of e-Learning Programs
o Supervise Assistant Editor of Academic e-learning Programs
o Interface with Education Division leadership and key institutional stakeholders to assist in best utilization of technology to extend reach of programming (i.e. podcasts, webcasts, video conferencing, archived educational programs, etc.)
o Develop and implement educational technology policies, procedures and standards for application and administration of education technology resources and content development
o Ensure utilization of Division-wide systems, assist with streamlining data management; and integration of technology with hospital systems
o Plan for future technology acquisitions to support HSS, remaining current with emerging technologies
o Attend HSS committees and other organization meetings as appropriate

The Ideal Candidate

Master’s degree preferred: MBA/MPA or advanced degree in technology
Outstanding written and excellent oral communication skills including experience in writing business development plans
Seasoned and accomplished manager/mentor of people and projects
Exceptional computer skills; proficiency in audio visual services
Ability to multitask and work in a deadline-driven environment
Good understanding of, experience or strong interest in health issues
Sonicfoundry Mediasite® experience a plus
