Manager, Creative Services

Vitamin T client is looking for a Creative Services Manager for their Crystal City office. This candidate will manage the development, design, and production of all marketing and collateral materials necessary for print and web advertising, direct mail, conferences, and other sales efforts for all divisions. Candidate will also ensure branding guidelines are strictly adhered to across all internal and external customer-facing channels.


RESPONSIBILTIES:
Design marketing and sales collateral, conference signage, and online and print advertising; review, edit, and provide guidance to staff and freelancers on the design of all print and online marketing, sales, and conference materials and ensure compliance and consistency with branding guidelines; review, edit, and guide all print, online, and conference promotion materials done by the Senior Copywriter; work closely and coordinate with the marketing managers and with Production Team and Printer to execute planned marketing activities by the various publishing divisions; institute standardized approaches in the use of visual corporate identities that are consistent with branding guidance and client’s overall promotional objectives; review and approve all logo usage across all products, sponsorships, and promotional presentations; act as a liaison between the creative services team and the Internal Agency; consult with the Internal Agency for guidance in new treatments; consult with market managers to define, plan, and implement overall creative approaches and promotional messages; and lead meetings with marketing managers to evaluate and adjust plans according to determined strategic focus.

Lead and manage creative services team, including production manager, designer, copy writer, and production assistant as well as outside creative resources; prioritize, organize, distribute, and coordinate the flow of work; train, guide, and advise staff; ensure that policies, procedures, and schedules are followed; recommend actions concerning employment, terminations, performance appraisals, salary actions, and other staff decisions; resolve routine operating problems; participate in special projects; and assume other responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years’ experience in creating effective online, print, and conference marketing and sales materials; knowledge of digital and offset print production process, and postal regulation; proficiency in Web and Adobe inDesign desktop publishing platforms, and Mac troubleshooting skills; demonstrated management experience; proven ability to develop and implement highly effective and creative advertising concepts and marketing strategies, as evidenced by an excellent portfolio; thorough understanding of business-to-business direct marketing and advertising decision making; demonstrated abilities in organizational and project management, including the use of project resources and staff effectively within established schedules, budgets, and other guidelines; excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with persons on all levels, both inside and outside; excellent analytical skills; and strong verbal and written communication skills. Bachelor’s with coursework in graphic design, communications, advertising, or marketing or equivalent experience.
