Manager, Brand Strategy and Special Projects

Aquent's client, a large tech company headquartered in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a Manager, Brand Strategy and Special Projects for a 12–month assignment.

As a manager of Brand Strategy & Special Projects, you will be a critical member of your team. You will build, evolve and activate brand. You will identify, define and drive high-priority Special Projects across hardware product, platforms and consumer touch points. You will be the voice of consumers, taking an integrated, consumer-centric centric view to identify opportunities to move business forward. You will work closely with cross-functional teams within Hardware and across client and act as a strategic thought partner to product teams, product marketing teams, creative teams, business development, sales etc.

Top Daily Responsibilities:
*Brand Strategy - Drive evolution of the client hardware brand
*Special Projects -- Identify cross-functional and / or cross-product opportunities (e.g., family of products / “better together”, own retail, care strategy) and articulate path forward
*Business Operations - Identify opportunities to improve the way we operate as a central team (e.g, new capabilities, processes, tools) and as a broader marketing organization

Additional Responsibilities:
**Brand strategy**
- Ensure strategic alignment with the broader organization
- Build competitive intelligence (in the US & internationally) to establish ourselves as a HW leader
- Guide and leverage key insights (e.g., brand research, audience) with our insights team
- Work closely with our creative team to bring our brand to life
- Act as a thought partner to product teams making brand-related decisions (e.g., product naming)
- Drive change through key events (e.g., workshops) and communication (e.g., website)

**Special projects**
- Lead strategic projects by defining the approach, gathering relevant insights and working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders
- Drive recommendations through implementation
- Build strong relationships across the organization

**Business operations**
- Develop recommendations and support / drive implementation
- Support business planning

Required Qualifications:
BA/BS degree, (no specific field required)
5+ years of experience in hardware, tech or consumer industry
3+ years of marketing experience
Experience in management consulting or in a corporate strategy role
Experience leading complex strategic and operational initiatives
Proven track record of entrepreneurial activity in creating and scaling projects

Nice to have's:
MBA or graduate degree in management
3+ years in management consulting in the hardware or retail / consumer industry
5+ years of marketing experience including brand building and / or product marketing
Superior problem solving skills, combining a strategic mindset, creative thinking and strong analytical skills
Strong program management with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to take complex, ambitious projects and create compelling narratives for different audiences
Deep understanding of consumer dynamics in the HW and tech space
Superior interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish relationships, manage people and influence without authority
