Our client is looking for a Project Manager who is an expert in MS Project (or similar program)
1) Lagre scale AM for a major corporation
The idea candidate will have Corporate Program Management and has worked with multiple project managers in the field.
Candidates could also have these backgrounds:
2) Product Management who has taken product from concept to testing, to market launch, to training
The keys are process orientation, following a methodology, communication and organization is critical
3) Business Development role that has gone from business concept to launch, dealling with a large population, where candidate has established teams
4) large scale event planning (think Olympics, not a large wedding...large, corporate events).
The Program Manager works at our clients Corporate Headquarters, RI in the Construction and Property Administration Department and reports to the Sr. Director of Retail Program Mgt Strategy and Admin.
This Retail, Program Management Strat & Admin Team delivers nearly 20 different programs consisting of nearly 12,000 projects per year
A day in the life...
Leads programs that involve 10 to 7800 individual projects spanning the nation (incl HI and Puerto Rico) each of which has a multi-million dollar budget These projects roll up to the program manager who is responsible for managing budget, scope, schedule in the aggregate while ensuring the field team at the project level have the necessary information and support to be successful with execution.
This person has national responsibility for programs and special projects that may include Retail Remodels, regional or national rollouts, New Businesses, Tests, Rx, Safety, or ADA
Establishes program manuals, project set up in the system, schedule parameters, communication plan , charter, etc utilizing internal systems and leveraging MS Office tools like MS Project, Excel. Must have strong comfort level with Excel and PowerPoint.
Utilizes program/project management methods and procedures (Certifications as PMP - Project Mgt, CAPM Certified Assistant PM, or PgMP Program Mgt Professional preferred
Conducts/facilitates cross functional meetings to ensure the program is on budget, within established scope and on schedule.
Works closely with Sr. Leaders/Sponsors to develop and lead programs to achieve key metrics that align with and drive company strategies
Develops program charter, communication plans, schedule parameters and field ready execution manuals so the program is delivered consistently and on point throughout the country/company
Provides status up dates, risk assessments and mitigation plans to maintain program health.
Works with a variety of levels within the organization but is typically dealing with Sr level leaders like Sr Directors and above so a level of polish and professionalism is required.
Damage control, change management, process improvement, travel, training, multitasking, critical thinking, positivity and solutions to problems, team oriented, can handle large workload and demanding conflicting priorities.
