Licensing Associate

The Licensing Associate is responsible for supporting the Senior Marketing Manager with basic business decisions and activities involved in the management of a product category/categories. This position supports the Senior Marketing Manager in product development and launches, coordination of product images/samples for line lists and special projects, and basic business activities (e.g., competitive analysis, deal sheets, etc.)

Major Responsibilities

1) Support team on:

Competitive Analysis
POS Analysis
Research Anaysis
NPD Data Analysis
Deal Sheets

2) Manages all communication between licensee and licensor regarding approvals, product samples, style guides, line lists and marketing commitments

3) Organizes new licensee orientations specific to the approval process

4) Creates and updates category product information, including product line lists, wholesale and retail pricing, retail placement and packaging dimensions

5) Coordinates retail presentations, including marketing materials and samples

Maintains product archives (samples and storage)
Duties CONTINUED.....Correspondence with Licensee
1) Requests product samples and marketing pieces
3) Updates and maintains product line list for each licensee
4) Follows-up to ensure line refreshes have occurred (e.g. logo updates, new packaging implementation, etc.)
5) Follows-up on Marketing Manager initiated requests (e.g. business reviews)
6) Generates meeting and trade show notes

Organize, Maintain and Coordinate Samples to Support:
1) Brands Consumer Products trade shows
2) Presentation meetings (i.e. Barbie-ization)
3) Public Relations and Marketing Initiatives
4) Style Outs
5) Photography
6) Sample Library

Fundamental Business Support
1) Conducts competitive analysis and formulates actionable recommendations regarding distribution, price points, creative direction, product assortments, and marketing programs (including store checks and management of competitive samples)
2) Assists Senior Marketing Manager in identification and assessment of potential licensees
3) Completes deal sheets for Marketing Manager to review for new and renewed deals
4) Responsible for basic financial analysis and summary, whether that is to determine the size of a branded program, the financial break-out by retailer, etc.
5) Tracks marketing spending by licensee and contributes to discussion on marketing fund allocation decisions
6) Assists in preparation for retail meetings
Experience:
College degree strongly preferred with major in Business Administration or Marketing ideal
3-5 years of marketing, licensing, and/or product development experience
Must be extremely organized and adept at multi-tasking
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, are required
Ability to take ownership of a problem and see through resolution or recommendation
