Learning Soluntions Sr. Web Developer

Our healthcare client’s Learning Solutions team has a part-time contract position open for an experienced multimedia learning developer with both visual design and coding skills.

Candidates must be skilled in producing multimedia, creating static and motion graphics, web design, and user experience, with a portfolio demonstrating that experience.

Experience with designing and developing learning courseware, and other learning materials is highly desired.

• Experience working as a designer in a team environment is highly desired.
• Excellent visual design skills including illustration.
• Strong visual thinker with the ability to conceptualize complex systems and design information in a simple, elegant approach
• Experience in character and object design and animation is highly desired

• Resourceful, creative approach to learning development
• Highly adaptable to today’s technology
• Experience working in a fast-paced, team oriented, web or e-learning development environment
• Audio experience, including recording and editing, with experience in voiceover narration and/or music is desirable
• Video editing experience
• Experience with Web development, creating and editing HTML & XML files
• Experience with Macromedia Flash development environment / SWF files
• Professional experience with electronic file / document management
• Experience with e-learning course development strongly desired, including developing and deploying content to Learning Management Systems.
• Good understanding of SCORM standard, and other e-learning course standards is desirable.

Responsibilities include:
• Transform design ideas into modular HTML5 and CSS3
• Build responsive layouts for web-based learning materials
• Solid JavaScript skills, experience using jQuery and frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation
• Develop interactive objects in HTML5, Storyline , from storyboard/script with text, voice, sound, and graphics that will be used in dynamic e-learning courseware.
• Work as part of a team of instructional designers, subject matter experts, and developers to create instructional components.
• Create and assemble assets and reach project milestones with overall consistency and high level of quality.
• Quality testing on course files for accuracy, design, and standards compliance (SCORM standard)
• Comfortably receive and give design feedback to other team members
• Serve as a problem solving resource to project team.
• Organize and manage e-learning media files on department's file sharing software

Extra points:
• Experience working on a story-driven, Agile team (we use the Agile-inspired Successive Approximation Model, or SAM, as our instructional design model)
• Background in photography, video, animation, other media production

Skills, tools:
• Articulate Storyline
• Captivate
• Adobe Creative Suite (CS4 and above) – Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash or Edge Animate, Premiere, Soundbooth (or similar tools)
• Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, Word skills

Hours and days: Monday - Friday, 8 - 5. Candidates must be flexible with their hours. This will not always be a 40-hour workweek. There will be times when there are less than 40 hours per week. Candidates who are unable to commit to less than 40 hours per week should not be submitted for this requisition.

Experience Requirements: At least 5 years experience.
Work Environment: Typical office with business casual dress. Team environment.

Scope of the project: The instructional design team works on as many as 50 different projects. Typically, a designer will work on a project for 2 - 3 months before switching projects. The projects include (but are not limited to) Peoplesoft, Remedy, internal systems.

Top 3 skills needed to succeed in this position: A passion for instructional development. Candidates must love learning special features of a system and have the ability to work well on a multitalented team.
