Lead Web Developer

One of Aquent’s large energy clients is looking for a Lead Web Developer for a long-term contract position. The ideal candidate is someone that has recent experience in back-end website management and is looking for an opportunity to grow their career within a Fortune 25 company.

DESCRIPTION
The Lead Web Developer provides expertise in areas of application/software fixes, tuning, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, deployments, support, and documentation of standards and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for leading and defining the technical scope of web projects; focusing on project deliverables, established timelines and cost estimates
• Administer and maintain in-house web applications (e.g. Team Foundation Server, Visual Sourcesafe, TeamTrack), Google Analytics and development servers
• Manage coding efforts of internal and external technical resources; works with developers and quality assurance team to ensure sites and development workflow conform to requirements
• Share technical and business guidance with other team members, IT groups and business partners Identifies areas for improvement, present recommendations and champion’s changes.
• Keep apprised of industry best practices
• Provides training to developers and technical guidance to web teams

REQUIREMENTS
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral, listening and writing) skills
• Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
• Demonstrates sense of urgency in completing tasks and resolving issues in order to deliver a quality project on time and within budget
• Ability to guide, lead, mentor and facilitate collaboration among team members
• Ability to monitor systems for high availability, security, manageability and reliability
• Ability to lead activities with external vendor and internal teams
• Advances skills in software development methodologies and process the ability to disseminate them to a team

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
• Experience in relational databases such as SQL Server is required
• At least 3 years of recent Microsoft .NET experience (C#, ASP)
• Experience using the following development tools; Visual Studio 2012, Photoshop, CS3, CS5, Visual SourceSafe
• Knowledge of and/or experience with Web Services Standards (SOAP, XML, WSDL, UDDI)
• Experience with standard internet protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, POP, FTP, SMTP, Javascript: jQuery
