Vitamin T is recruiting for an exciting new opening for a Lead Visual Designer to work with a reputable organization headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI. This is a long term, contract-to-hire position for someone with the strength and ability to articulate a visual experience (color palettes, typography, iconography, etc.).

The Lead Visual Designer is a senior level in-house role that will be responsible for establishing a visual design practice within a UX Design team and driving great user experience across a digital ecosystem. This role is a practice and creative lead requiring a proven capability to champion user requirements, articulate a creative vision, and execute according to the very highest design standards. This is a high-visibility position requiring the ability to clearly communicate ideas across all levels of the organization. The Lead Visual Designer will be taking the design process from ideation through full product cycle, you'll be a design leader, team player and user champion -- all while elegantly transforming the expression of our client's brand in the digital space.

Requirements:
+ Portfolio demonstrating highest visual design standards both as an individual contributor and as an art/design lead.
+ Experience in delivering responsive digital design across a multi-screen ecosystem, including experience designing for HTML5/CSS3, webkits and CSS frameworks.
+ Demonstrated track record in web application design.
+ Expert level proficiency in traditional and emerging design practice. Ability to introduce and model best practices in visual and interaction design. Ability to provide strategic recommendations on most appropriate tools and methodologies for a particular project or product.
+ Experience working in a traditionally managed design environment: team critiques are part of our client's design culture, and the ability to give, take, and prioritize feedback is essential.
+ Proven ability to define presentation standards and apply them across a product or product line, as well as communicate UX patterns and visual specifications to a production and development team.

Additional qualifications:
+ Design related degree preferred, or other academic or equivalent professional training in fundamental design theory and practice.
