Now, here is the exciting part. Our innovative and inspiring Fortune 500 financial service client is looking for a contract/freelance a Lead User Interface (UI) Designer to join their team for 6 months with opportunity to extend. This role is onsite in Phoenix, AZ, 5 days/40 hours a week. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and a mission to bring best user experience to the end user.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as a member of a Product Engineering and Advanced Analytics Team that design data driven products for Information Security Analytics customers 
  • Perform ongoing refactoring of code, utilizing visualization and other techniques to fast track concepts, and delivering continuous improvement 
  • Create unique data visualizations for insights being generated by the analytics team 
  • Work closely with back-end engineers to implement versatile solutions to complicated web development problems 
  • Finalize mockups and prototypes into web app or data visualization by integrating with back-end services and functionality 
  • Develop reusable components and libraries for other engineers to consume 

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Information Systems , Business Administration or other related field preferred (or equivalent work experience) 
  • At least 4-5 years of strong experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, DOM, JavaScript design patterns, web components (Polymer), MV* frameworks(e.g. AngularJS) and jQuery
  • Strong understanding of CSS Frameworks(like Bootstrap, jQuery UI etc) and dynamic stylesheet language like LESS 
  • Experience building rich data visualization using D3.js  and skills in building low and high fidelity prototypes and wire-frames using Balsamiq mockups or others 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with RESTful APIs, AJAX, JSON;  experience with a source code management like GIT;  experience in working with at least one server side technology (Java, .NET etc); with Unit testing frameworks for UI 
  • Knowledge of utilizing Continuous Integration techniques for UI (i.e. Bower, Grunt), knowledge of using graphic tools (like GIMP) to create design elements, knowledge of PaaS environments like OpenShift 
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in an Agile development environment (Scrum, Kanban) 
  • Ability to apply Human Computer Interaction and Human centered design principles to real life design challenges 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to clearly articulate solution alternatives and strong work prioritization, planning, and organizational skills
