A top digital, web brand is looking for a Lead UX Designer to help drive, design and unify the user experience of the next generation of their site building products. You will use all of your highly-tuned UX skills – user and product research, visual and interaction design, the creation of compelling designs and mockups, and taking final work into production along with the rest of your team of product, engineering and marketing team members.

In our fun, state-of-the-art facility we’ll give you ample space and freedom to apply your years of developing unrivaled user experiences to help define the product experience. You’ll create amazing design solutions and communicate them clearly to the stakeholders with whom you interface. We’re a super friendly, bright bunch and you’ll be a core member of a dynamic, exciting, fast-paced team.

How you’ll spend your day:

As a senior member of the UX team, representing the face of high quality design practices, you’ll share in all aspects of UX design – design research, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping.
Demonstrate a strong, hands-on proficiency in experience design, creating simple, elegant, engaging solutions.
Lead a team of designers to build the next-generation of site-building products.
Serve as subject matter expert in interaction design & design research, and evangelize current trends and patterns in design for mobile, tablet, and desktop form factors.
Partner with the Sr. Director, User Experience to guide UX strategy and execution. Lead strategic relationships and collaborate with internal customers & external partners.
Facilitate collaboration sessions between Engineering, Product and UX. Coach & mentor team members on all aspects of design – from methodologies to execution.

About you:

Having built successful software products from the ground up, you’re known by engineering and product teams for innovation, collaboration, and integrity; Collaborating with product teams is as comfortable to you as a conversation with customers, marketing, or your best friend.
You’re excited about the company mission – helping small businesses become the best digital versions of themselves – and you’ll consistently push for what’s best for our customers.
You can jump into any part of the design process, including research, writing, UX design, visual design and prototyping.
You deliver on commitments and expect the same of others. You keep people on track while at the same time using your creativity to find the disruptive solutions.
Designers want to follow you, and engineers want to work with. You’ve formed and led exceedingly effective teams.
Endowed with an insatiable intellectual curiosity and great listening skills, you’re an honor student in the School of Life. Although, we love if you’ve got good school(s) and good degree(s) under your belt. Consulting/agency experience is also a plus.
You’ve done unique, interesting work with quality companies in creative ways. While you like to put order to chaos, you don't mind creating a little yourself when it’s what’s needed. You genuinely care about people and outcomes.

What you’ll bring:

At least 5 years of industry experience in UX design and strategy
Significant experience and a strong working knowledge of application design principles
A track record that demonstrates strategy, ideation and product definition using disruptive design practices
Strong communications (written and verbal), negotiation, and problem solving skills
Thorough understanding of Web-based application technologies (HTML, CSS, JS)
