Lead Interactive Designer

The Lead Interactive Designer is responsible for all coding of email and web-based
collateral. The candidate will primarily convert Photoshop and Illustrator
mockups of email layouts to functional email HTML code for proper display
in Microsoft Outlook and webmail clients. The candidate will also support
clients and managers with the email deployment process and configure email
campaigns within email campaign and marketing software. This person must
have great attention to detail and a thorough knowledge of HTML and CSS
quirks for email display.

Other tasks include the design of email layouts, design and development of
landing pages and websites for desktop and mobile browsers using
cleanly-coded XHTML and CSS 2.1 for desktop and HTML5 and CSS 3 for mobile
browsers, design of banner advertisements, and serving as the HTML and CSS
expert resource for the design team. There is also occasional Flash design
and development for interactive desktop presentations and applications.

The Lead Interactive Designer will also be required to regularly troubleshoot and
validate front-end code for email and web, both their own and that written
by others.

Candidates must be able to manage multiple projects from different clients
at once and be a self-starter who is not hesitant to ask questions to get
all the pertinent information necessary to complete a project. Jobs will be provided through a
traffic manager.

This is a Mac-based design environment, although Windows-based PCs are
used for email testing and deployment.


Expert-level knowledge of writing email HTML, XHTML and CSS from scratch
using Adobe Dreamweaver code view (as opposed to design view)
Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Working knowledge of other Adobe Creative Suite products
Familiarity with best practices of designing and coding email layouts,
including table-based HTML design, the limitations of Outlook, Gmail,
Hotmail, and Yahoo Mail, and accessibility for email clients with images
disabled and people who are visually impaired
Familiarity with email campaign software (e.g. CheetahMail, iContact,
Constant Contact, etc.)
Familiarity with writing layer-based HTML and CSS for the web
Experience working with HTML5, CSS 3, and jQuery JavaScript framework for
the mobile web
Adobe Flash animation and ActionScript experience preferred, but not required

Must be able to troubleshoot and fix problems through existing experience
and familiarity with front-end code
Must be able to learn processes quickly as training frequently occurs
Must be able to work independently and with team members in a
production-heavy environment
Must be able to manage concurrent tight deadlines from various clients
Must be able to communicate effectively with clients through email,
instant messaging, phone, and face-to-face
Must be organized with managing digital assets on the file server for
multiple revisions of a project
