Lead Copywriter - Internal Communications

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to take the lead on perfecting how we describe a variety of interactions and information in the digital space. Put on your empathy glasses and help us elevate our employee and customer experience through written communications.

The Copywriter Lead will be responsible for leading content strategy for a variety of projects supporting our client's digital team. Current projects of focus include in-store sales tools, customer-facing commerce platforms, and multi-channel commerce initiatives.

In addition to writing, editing, and proofreading site/application content, this person will also work closely with Business Analysts, Business Requestors, Marketing, IA, IXD, Creative, and IT teams to maintain site standards with regard to new development. This is a leadership position requiring ability to delegate and organize tasks and gauge team capacity. Tasks require strong communication skills, an attention to detail, and an ability to work independently under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure adherence to business and legal requirements for terms and conditions, privacy policies and other customer policy messaging
• Ensure adherence to partner and operations’ requirements for crafting FAQ content, status messaging, email communications and error messaging
• Appropriately delegate tasks and work with Delivery and Project Managers to craft and prioritize workload of direct reporting copywriter(s)
• Specific outputs will include product descriptions, static web and application content, email communications, error scenarios, legal disclaimers, marketing/promotional content, interaction instructions, FAQ, and new product descriptions.

Requirements:
• Strong writing skills with a focus on e-commerce marketing/sales
• Understanding of online content development and web usability
• Familiarity with SEO-focused content
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Creativity coupled with an ability to multitask, prioritize, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort with ambiguity and a strong bias for action
• Able to work independently within a team environment
• Strong knowledge of the Web environment and best practices in communicating online
• High level of attention to detail
• Basic understanding of HTML
• Proficient in MS Office
• This person should have copywriting experience in e-commerce environments, preferably in the digital technology field.

Preferred:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, English or Journalism
• Mobile Phone copywriting experience
• Agile development process experience
