Lead Account Manager

The Lead Account Manager is responsible for building client-agency relationships that result in superior marketing programs, advertising campaigns, positive results/ROI and increased Agency revenue. This role oversees multiple Agency accounts and clients and day-to-day mentoring of junior staff.

Responsibilities:

Lead brand development initiatives with internal and external partners
Drives client discussions to uncover business problems, frame the key issues and develop appropriate recommendations
Leads cross-functional Agency teams (creative, media, digital) to develop, sell and deliver optimal brand and retail marketing and advertising campaigns.
Serves as a visible and influential presence with clients/management; manages expectations of all stakeholders
Anticipates client needs and proactively mitigates issues
Researches and stays abreast of industry news and trends impacting client, agency and strategic partners; identifies opportunities and challenges and drives strategies to address them
Prepares strategic and actionable Creative Briefs
Develops thorough client Statements of Work
Delivers effective presentations (over the phone and in person) with confidence
Views the larger financial picture and understands impacts on contribution margins and revenue targets
Develops both direct reports and junior staff by coaching, training and identifying areas for growth


Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing or a related field
8+ years experience in a brand marketing/advertising role
Strong strategic planning and analysis acumen
Experience managing junior staff (account executives, coordinators)
Track record of developing, producing and analyzing marketing and advertising programs for clients (all media, channels, including digital)
Strong time management and organizational skills
Strong client-service orientation and team player attitude
Proficiency in PowerPoint (Keynote or Prezi), Word, Excel, and MS Office
Demonstrated ability to coach, initiate change, and collaborate across group
Experience with multi-location retail brands or franchises, a plus
