LMS Coordinator

Our higher education client is looking to hire a coordinator to help manage their Learning Management Systems for a contract-to-hire role offering full benefits.

Major duties include daily management and administration of two Learning Management Systems— Blackboard Learn and Schoology, as well as management and administration of related instructional tools including web conferencing and plagiarism tools. The position will participate in the planning, testing and scheduling of updates on all systems and tools; help troubleshoot and resolve end user issues; and work with the LMS team on larger projects and integrations.

Duties

• Acts as primary internal support contact and escalation point for staff, faculty and students; uses ticketing system to create, update, and resolve issues as they are escalated from internal staff or the helpdesk
• Assists LMS team with the management and maintenance of system settings, updates, and options in the learning management systems, including preparing for updates, configuring integrated tools, and adjusting options for roles, brands, and groups.
• Manages users and courses including adding/removing users; updating user permissions; updating enrollments; updating system roles; adding/removing courses; and adding/removing groups
• Interacts with vendors as needed to ensure functionality of tools including planning and testing for upgrades and working with support and product teams on issues
• Assists with faculty and staff training enrollment and new user creation in collaboration with the academic and HR departments.
• Creates and distribute guides and manuals for end users
• Provides end user training and demonstrations as needed
• Maintains knowledge of bugs, updates, and changes to all LMS related tools
• Creates and manage content on the portal using the CMS, including pages and notices, and providing training on functions as needed

Qualification & Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• One to three years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
• Demonstrated knowledge of administrative functions and system settings in a learning management system required, such as Blackboard Learn, Canvas, or Schoology
• Basic understanding of different methods of user/course management such as manual methods through batch files or integration with an SIS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service and support skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
• Proven ability to efficiently multi-task, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems
• Ability to work effectively with the LMS team and technology operations team, as well as work independently on own tasks and projects
• Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
