LMS Administrator

The contract Schoology LMS Administrator is responsible for the maintenance of this client's learning management system (LMS), including the maintenance of any external tools or technologies within the online classroom, including the support of tools. The Schoology Administrator will also manage help guides for students, faculty, and staff as needed, as well as continuously troubleshoot faculty schoology issues via the course support system. The contract Schoology LMS administrator aids the curriculum support specialists by support for daily activities.

  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance of the LMS and all supporting tools, internal system notifications, and other instructional technology user accounts;
  • Utilizes existing systems and workflows to ensure that all course resources are properly set up and available;
  • Updates help guides as necessary for faculty 
  • Configures the LMS accounts;
  • Ensures successful development/implementation of course tools within the Schoology lms, including building-level apps, and LTI configurations.
  • Maintains relationships with the University’s 24/7 Tech Support provider; Communicates with provider to address issues and trends;
  • Facilitates the escalation of and resolution for IT issues connected to the Schoology learning management system and/or external tools;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Experience with multiple external vendors and tools
  • Applications Administrator experience
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Troubleshooting
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Experience authoring help guides
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Advanced proficiency integrating external tools into the learning management system (preference for Schoology experience)
  • Advanced understanding of HTML/CSS
  • Knowledge of LTI, API and OAuth 

•Experience & Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in related field
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of learning management system maintenance and administration.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience integrating tools and technologies.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and senior leaders, as well as other related stakeholders.
