Aquent's client in Framingham, MA has asked for our help in identifying a JR. TECHNICAL WRITER for a LONG TERM CONTRACT ENGAGEMENT. You will work M-F during normal business hours onsite in Framingham, MA.. Resumes and online portfolio are required. Client has specifically asked for a junior technical writer with a lot of professional maturity. Excellent communication skills, ability to lead meetings and interact with seasoned stakeholders is key.

Location- Framingham, MA, no opportunity to work remotely
Duration- This is a long term engagement with no end date insight. The contract will be renewed every 6 months
Hourly pay rate- maximum of $33.00
Hours- normal business hours

JUNIOR Technical Writer


You will be responsible for planning, writing and editing instructional information for publication to the general public. Your responsibilities may include writing product specifications for distribution to internal users. You will interview subject matter experts (engineers, UI designers, user researchers, and marketing) to gather data for documentation. You will work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. You must be able to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Your end user is the general public- industry- consumer electronics

• 1-2 years of experience creating end-user documentation: owner's guides, setup guides, instructions, etc.
• Excellent technical communication skills – both verbal and written
• Produce documentation that conforms to guidelines and quality assurance standards consistently.
• Define best way to communicate information. For example, transform large paragraphs into procedural steps or tabled information
• Filter through information and extract necessary information for a task or procedure
• Adhere to strict documentation review process and incorporate changes from legal, safety, and product team
• Identify need for illustrations where necessary
• Incorporate review comments with keen attention to detail and followthrough
• Technical capability with primary software tools (InDesign 5, Illustrator, Adobe CS5) Professional training and/or certification in InDesign preferred.)
• Microsoft Office
• Experience with MadCap Flare is desirable
• Ability to integrate into cross-functional technical teams

BA in English, Technical Communications
