Junior Online Content Editor

Online Content Editor will report to the Managing Editor and will play an essential role in creating a vibrant and engaging place for people to experience urban dance music – whatever their level of knowledge.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be obsessed about audio and video, and about using it to bring urban dance music, output to a whole new audience, delivering fascinating, insightful and innovative ways of engaging with urban dance music and enhancing the website’s regular flow of content. You’ll enrich our audience’s listening experience by producing engaging content in tandem with our on air output.

You’ll be responsible for shooting, editing and rendering video for on-line use to support editorial needs, both on air and online, including the visualization of live on air content, and also editing audio and video for online use to support the website’s editorial needs.

Using image editing software (Photoshop), to create accompanying pieces of design for use on the website, on videos and audio content.

Working alongside the website’s editor to generate new and compelling audio/visual franchises.

You'll be experienced in writing for the web and creating engaging feature content.

You'll be able to write news stories and blog posts to a high standard that will engage the audience.

You'll be familiar with best practices on key social media channels, including Instagram, Mixcloud, Soundcloud and YouTube.

Working closely with the editorial team to drive revenues, page impressions, customer satisfaction and advocacy to the content you create and the website in general.

What we expect of you:

You’ll need a good awareness of urban and dance music genres.

You’ll be obsessed with video, audio and photography and have a good knowledge of video/audio editing.

Experienced in creating compelling online content and an understanding of online media and their relation to offline media.

Outstanding communications skills.

Reporting on and analysing online user engagement.

Knowledge and use of Photoshop or similar.

Experience in using social media to both source stories and drive page views.

React timely to breaking stories to deliver topical and engaging content.
