Our client is looking for a Jr. Designer with the following skills:

-Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, variety in portfolio, great personality--will talk about fit later.
-Will primarily be working with packaging, instruction materials, act as a primary source for the team in laying out existing design.
-Will use style guides, take existing designs, utilize company standards. Some logo design.
-Detail-oriented person to retouch, check press proofs, catalogs for marketing and trade shows. Create Mock-ups, hands-on experience with cutting, pasting and mounting

Title: Jr Graphic Designer
Reports to: Product Development Director
Department: Product Development

Responsibilities:

• Complete graphic design projects as assigned. – Execute graphic design for a variety of projects including but not limited to:
o New product packaging, challenge cards and instructions
o International translation layouts and other custom projects
o Web and email graphics
o Catalog, marketing and trade show graphics
o On-spec and product refresh projects
o Illustrations
• Be the primary design resource for International and Domestic Custom projects and product updates.
o Work closely with the Production Department to meet their timelines and design objectives.
• Work within the design standards of the company brand; help to ensure a consistent look across all design projects.
• Check artwork proofs. – Review art proofs (i.e. Proof of Upload, Digital Proofs and Press Proofs) as assigned following the existing process. Provided detailed feedback to the project manager.
• Photograph and retouch product/trade show photos as assigned.
• Maintain awareness of current game/toy industry trends.
o Go on store visits for feedback and market research (as assigned).
o Maintain general industry knowledge.
• Create product mock-ups and prototypes. – Make prints and assemble prototypes for play testing and mock-ups for tradeshows/sales samples.
• Print, mount, and crop signage for tradeshows & other events.
• Participate in PD activities. – Be part of the PD team; help with and contribute to the creative activities of the department. Including brainstorming, play testing, and troubleshooting challenges.
• Keep the Product Development Director apprised of status on all projects.
