Junior Experience Design Researcher (User Researcher)

Our client, a leading software provider of business and financial management solutions, is looking for an experienced Junior User Researcher to join their Experience Design team. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver with a passion for innovation and desire to revolutionize the way the world does business!

The Jr User/XD Researcher will:
• Accelerate game-changing design by being part of strategic research that provides actionable insights.
• Help cross-functional teams apply those insights to create delightful, innovative offerings.
• Execute original user research on strategic initiatives, from identifying the topic of research to distilling findings in a way that is easily consumed by product teams.
• Carry out activities such as needs assessment, new product brainstorms, early concept exploration, requirements gathering, post-product release analysis, and long-term research planning as part of the user-research project team.
• Work seamlessly as a key team member on cross-functional product teams, from designers and writers to product managers and engineers, to create research plans that are effective and help solve for the short and long term project goals.

To succeed in this role, you MUST:
• Have exposure to/knowledge of a broad range of methodologies including: ethnographic research, site visits, interviews, diary studies, usability testing, and putting together long-term research plans. Open to exploring new innovative research methods.
• Be organized, self-directed, efficient and able to manage complex projects in a timely manner.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

NICE to have skills:
• Masters Degree in Social Psychology, or an equivalent field in the behavioral sciences
• Scale community knowledge around research methods for today (e.g. mobile) and the future.

ADDITIONAL INFO
• This is a 4month, full-time, W-2 contract position located onsite in Mountain View, CA.
