This TOP Fortune 500 company, head-quartered in Mountain View, Ca, and known for their tax & small business software is looking for a Junior Design Researcher to join their Small Business Team for a 10 week contract period.

This is a really exciting time for research for our Small Business Software – so much so that we’re looking for a contractor to lead a project. The project is a short but compelling, high-impact project on one aspect of our small business software.

We’re looking for a stellar researcher with solid experience in qualitative research and an interest in systems The job includes taking on the running of a research project that will later transform into a design project. The work includes making sense of existing research, planning and organizing qualitative research in various ways, leading the team in conducting it, facilitating analysis and synthesis of findings and insights.

This person will work with a multidisciplinary team and work closely with a coach from the Customer Insights team, a central research team in the Small Business Group . We’re looking for someone who can run research independently while taking direction, but who is also great at seeing bigger picture and inviting collaboration to connect to a larger whole.

Responsibilities
• Work closely with stakeholders, coach and product teams from questions to research, to synthesis, to insights (with an eye to implementation).
• Drive the research project’s daily operations and engage the team in research activities, analysis, synthesis and in refining the work.
• Ensure secondary and prior research gets folded into the learnings
• Collaborate with other researchers and the research coach to share findings, get feedback and drive process forward in desired direction

Qualifications
• Experience with online and in-person qualitative research methodologies such as concept testing, usability testing, ethnography, interviewing, and observation.
• Ability to connect consumer and professional insights to product strategy.
• Ability to distill research findings into high fidelity, concise, and compelling presentations, data visualizations, and/or infographics.
• Great interpersonal skills to collaborate with a wide variety of colleagues in different disciplines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, and engaging presentation and/or storytelling skills
• BA/BS or equivalent real-world experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with qualitative market research, quantitative market research, and/or experience design research.
• Desire to have fun while creating top-notch work that has an incredible impact
