Junior Art Buyer

Our client is a major bank in NYC. They have asked for our assistance in identifying 2 ART BUYERS for a long term engagement, 02/25/2013 to 08/22/2014 .

You will work onsite Monday-Friday during normal business hours. There is no opportunity to work remotely and there is no chance of this engagement becoming a perm position.

The client will NOT consider graphic designer, production artists or art directors who have experience art buying. The client prefers a Talent who is a professional agency art buyer.


Assists Art Buyers in coordinating the research, purchasing and tracking of images for advertising, collateral and acquisition materials. This includes assisting Art Buyers to research and establish outside vendors such as photographers, fine artists, illustrators and stock image sources.


Responsibilities:

• Create purchase orders and track invoicing.
• Track copyright information, vendor information and licensing parameters for all images.
• Provide basic administrative support.
• Maintain an awareness of visual trends.
• Adhere to established processes to ensure compliance on all jobs.
• Assist Art Buyers with
- researching and identifying appropriate images for design projects as needed.
- researching and identifying artists to be commissioned by agency.
- the production of internal and external photo shoots
- creating estimates for stock images
- managing the image library

Required Skills:

• Bachelors Degree in Photography, Visual Arts, Digital Media, OR 3 - 5 years equivalent work experience.
• Proficient in visual communication.
• Demonstrated high-level organization and communication skills.
• Team oriented.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional fast-paced team environment.
• Able to handle direction and constructive criticism.
• Computer proficiency including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Mac and PC platforms.
• Familiarity with Filemaker Pro is helpful
