Are you a Junior / midweight Designer with a keen interest in current affairs and satirical/newsjacking approach to you work looking for a role that will give nationwide exposure to the work that produce? Then read on:

My Client, a politically focused group, are looking for a Designer with a strong advertising focus to join their team to help spearhead campaigns around the General Election to increase awareness before an election due at the latest in 2015. Working as a designer in the team (the team is lead by a creative director and there is also a copywriter - to be hired, and 2 other designers) you will be working on a broad range of online (70%) and print (30%) with massive exposure to the general public across the entire UK.

Your eye catching portfolio of predominately commercially produced work (and some spec work) will demonstrate the varied approach you can apply to your work: satirical/newsjacking work, working within brand, speed of response, ability to work to tight deadlines and produce work (to final print) of an exceptionally high standard as well as a quirky approach to art direction and an understanding of complex political situations.

You will be working within a small creative team producing nationwide campaigns and reacting to changing circumstances in short time frames. Due to the nature of this work you will have a massive input to the details and overall concepts!

You will be:

- Generating posters and images for major online and offline campaigns

- Advising on branding, working with the in-house design team to help develop the business’s visual identity

- Creating infographics for use online

- Web design, including web pages and banners, taking into account usability

- Generating campaigning materials, including leaflets, brochures and policy dossiers

- Liaising with printers and organising the production process

- Working with photographers and photography to produce consistent and effective imagery for use in campaigning literature

Essential skills required:

- The ability to create impactful images across a range of styles

- The ability to break down large chunks of information and present them in a way that is simple and easy to understand

- Thorough knowledge of the print process/production

- The ability to work and think digitally

- The ability to respond to feedback and work as part of a team


You will be proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator and have already developed skills in coding HTML you will also be comfortable working in traditional media with a flair for solid typography and layout, and a great eye for photography.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
