Our client is looking for a junior to mid graphic designer for primarily production focused (less conceptual) print projects, and some digital (about an 80 / 20 split). S/he will execute on brand standards and visual identity, knows how to coordinate with printers and best practices for color and printing, paper types, different inks, the proofing process, has an eye for detail, and is excited about this! Digital projects may span asset collection, photo retouching, prepping files for social media, web or other digital channels. This role is onsite in Oakland, CA, at 30-40 hours/week.
Projects may include but are not limited to the following
Print projects: magazine ads, direct mail, brochures, coupons, business cards, signage (A-frames), posters, signage for doors and windows, vinyl decals, etc.
Digital projects: social media assets, occasionally for powerpoint presentation, etc.
-Adobe Creative Suite
-Print design experience (school projects OK!)
-Understanding of the print process
-Personality/culture fit: motivated, not afraid to ask questions, communicative, able to work in fast-paced work environment, self-advocating, understands the assignment before s/he gets too far in, positive attitude, collaborative
-Has an eye for color and typography
-Portfolio demonstrates range of formats, especially print, with a keen design sensibility
-Ability to stick with visual language and brand guidelines, for a consistent brand experience
