Jr. Web Content Specialist

Our Fortune-500 pharmaceutical client is looking for a Jr. Web Content Specialist to join their team. This will be a year long contract with possibility of extension. If you are interested in this opportunity, please read below and then APPLY today!

Position Description:
The content specialist will assist with adding and updating site promotions, email and online outreach campaigns.

The content specialist will monitor the website in a proactive manner and coordinate updates with all stakeholders. Tasks require a strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

This position requires a knowledge and understanding of the methods and techniques of maintaining content for the web. This includes skills using tools in the Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities:
• Primarily responsible for adding and editing all web content and implementing website enhancements.
• Continually monitor the website in a proactive manner and coordinate updates with all departments and agencies
• Monitor site content to ensure that information is accurate, current, accessible and user-friendly.
• Assist with e-mail marketing campaigns – entering goals into system.
• Work with digital agency and Marketing to test all new content before publishing to the site.
• Coordinate web projects across departments
• Use metadata and other methods to optimize search engine positions.
• Respond to user enquiries, comments and suggestions.
• Test compatibility with browsers.
• Perform image manipulation tasks such as creating thumbnails, image resize, file format conversion and simple image edits.
• Create multimedia, including photo galleries, slideshows, and videos embedded in Web pages
• Work in a web-based content management system to create and manage content.

Qualifications
• Must be able to work effectively both as a team member and independently.
• Demonstrate ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work with minimal supervision in a team environment
• Strong organization skills with emphasis on being conscientious, and detail-oriented
• Must be able to create and edit images using software tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer and PowerPoint
• Be conversant in web basics.
• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills in order to effectively communicate with a wide variety of staff regarding the publication of information on the web.
• Knowledge of multimedia/creative: e.g., interactive/web content, digital graphics/optimization

Required Skills
• Associate’s degree in communications or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
• Minimum 3 years as a web content/social media coordinator in a fast-paced agency or in-house creative setting with content maintenance responsibilities
• Working knowledge of computer software such as Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, as well as experience with social networking websites
• Must have excellent skills in editing various types of web content ranging from general text content to specialized digital content
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details
• Knowledge and/or experience with HTML, CSS, web analytics, and content management systems is a plus
