Pay up to $49 oer hour

This position is for a full time, one year, contract position that is based in Mountain View, CA.

The area: User Experience

We follow a simple but vital premise in the User Experience group: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." We're passionately interested in our users and strive to learn everything we can about their goals and needs, attitudes and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create. The User Experience team is a critical driving force behind gathering these insights and then using them to inspire and inform design. We are a multi-disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers, copywriters and web developers who collaborate closely with each other and with Engineering and Product Management to create innovative, usable, great-looking products that people love to use.

The role: User Experience Vehicle Researcher - Junior Level

As a junior level user experience researcher, you'll have the opportunity to conduct & support research activities in developing innovative, user-friendly, best-of-breed products. You should have strong analytical skills, experience conducting user research in a real world setting, excellent communication skills, and an eye for observing the nuances of human behavior.

Responsibilities:

conducting user research across a variety of methods
leading user research preparation activities
assist in preparation & execution of user research led by other team members
independently drawing basic conclusions from data sets
conducting in-person user interviews
qualitative & quantitative (at least basic statistics) data analysis
creating summary documentation for group presentations

Requirements:

minimum 1 year experience in applied product user research environment
strong detail-oriented working style
understands basic (user experience) research methods
skilled at conducting in-person interviews
comfortable with and skilled at analyzing large qualitative datasets (e.g., interview videos, transcripts, open-ended survey responses)
understands basic statistical concepts
excited to work in a fast-paced team environment
can work independently & be flexible by adapting to changing schedules / different projects
strong oral and written communication skills
interest in automotive industry preferred
B.S./B.A. in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, or other related human centric field

Preference:
1+ years work experience in hardware user research, preferably on vehicles
