Jr. UI Designer/Developer

0 people like this description

Our client is searching for a talented Junior UI Designer / Developer to join their expanding UX dept.

You will be working closely with their UX Lead to design and build a number of web products they have in the works as well as HTML email templates, landing pages and more.

Day to day you might be working with an analyst tweaking a layout to increase conversions, designing and building a new email template, sitting down to a blank canvas to help design their newest web app or possibly starting the build of your latest idea. Boredom is not an option!

If you are lacking some of the MUST HAVES below, but are a quick study and eager to learn and want to make an impact in a small, fun, and rapidly growing startup don’t hesitate.

They would love to see some of your work, finished or not (it’s great to see your thought process). Send a link to your portfolio or some links to some projects you have worked on and let them know what you contributed for each (ie. “Responsible for all the design and build.” OR “Worked with a developer and did the design only”… you get the drift)

Strong handwritten HTML, CSS/SASS/SCSS & Javascript skills (jquery is fine but if you are good at vanilla JS that is great or better yet Coffeescript?!?!)
Working knowledge of front end frameworks (we use Foundation)
Familiarity with or ability to learn HAML, ERB or other templating languages
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
Interactive Design skills (web design, user interface, HTML emails)
Working knowledge of Responsive/Mobile first design principles
GIT experience or other version control system
Genuine interest in UI Design and Development and your continuing development and growth in both

Copywriting experience
Wireframing/Prototyping skills (think Balsamiq, Sketch, Adobe XD or any of the other tools available)
Ruby on Rails
Email Marketing
Agile/Scrum experience
