One of our regular Fortune 500 clients has a unique opportunity for a non-traditional Technical Writer role. This is a great long-term opportunity for someone to become part of an intimate product team, creating clear, dynamic and intuitive manuals and user-guides.

Background on the product this role supports:
Web-based compliance product that enables companies to take steps to ensure they are complying with a variety of new regulations in terms of companies and people they are doing business with on a global basis. It helps address gaps in the “Know Your Customer” and supplier arena.

Key attributes of Technical Writer Role:
Comfortable in a very fluid environment & working within a small intimate team. Likes challenges and is comfortable jumping into something new & alien. Can function effectively with minimal guidance but also can work well in a team environment. Ability to “truly” understand the software and its intended functions and in-turn create user guides that clearly communicates these attributes to the end user in an intuitive fashion.
• This is a unique opportunity for a Technical Writer looking for a non-traditional Technical Writing role. This individual will work closely with a Product team to develop, update and globalize customer facing product materials for a rapidly evolving Web product.
• Develop, deploy and perform all documentation development life cycle processes such as Research, Text and Graphics Design (i.e. diagrams and/or screen shots). Adhere to defined standards, styles and branding guidelines for the type of deliverable developed, from guide to online to mobile.
• Partner with internal translation resources, as well as an external translation vendor, to ensure production materials are translated appropriately. Assist in developing a long term sustainable translation process.
• Ensure assigned documentation projects meet release deadlines.

Key Requirements
1-3 years technical documentation experience including producing graphics from both concept and screen captures. Should be able to demonstrate the ability to take complex concepts and translate them into quickly assimilated and easily retained information. Must be comfortable creating documentation within a fast-moving, dynamic agile environment.
Specific requisite skills include:
BS in Technical Writing or Communications, ideally with a focus in the digital space. JavaScript (Web development) or VBA scripting (Excel) experience helpful. An understanding of relational database structures (such as Access/MySQL) and XML also helpful.
• Desire and willingness to quickly learn MadCap Flare software and related software tools, without attending a training class.
• Ability to multitask and work accurately under pressure, as well as understand the priorities and scope for document deliverables. Should be comfortable handling fluid priorities.
• Experience in Financial Services or Compliance helpful.
