Jr. Production Designer

Our Fortune 500 retail client is seeking a talented Jr. Production Designer! This is a 6 month contract that pays $13/hr.

The Production Designer is responsible for assisting in design of all in-store graphics, point-of-sale signing and graphics relating to branding, merchandising strategies, promotions, template production, pre-flighting files, file releasing.

 PowerPoint design experience is strongly preferred!!

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements

• Assists/Develops layouts for all signing aspects of corporate marketing and business unit(s) sales collateral, POP, POS, promotions and miscellaneous projects.

• Works collaboratively with the creative team to communicate marketing objectives and determine effective messaging, content and layout design.

• Translates concepts and ideas into visual communications that can replace or enhance narrative documentation.

• Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, utilizes brand standards for styles and fonts, and arranges layouts based upon available space, knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.

• Coordinates the release and processing of files at prepress. Ensures accuracy of file set-up and specs for all out going work. Approves proofs for accuracy.

• Manages external agency partners and timelines, ensuring all deadlines are met.

• Demonstrates initiative and innovation appropriate to the assignment and timeframe.
• Observes compliance with prevailing corporate identity standards.

• Possesses skills in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). 

• Knowledge of traditional and digital printing processes and strong typography skills.

• Ability to plan, organize, identify problems and correct design issues under tight deadlines.

• Must be flexible to work and creatively multi-task within a fast-paced, hectic environment where priorities are constantly changing.
• Must be able to adapt to work schedule to fit business needs.

• 3-5 years of graphic design and production to press experience. 

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
