Jr. Production Assistant

The Production Assistant assists the photo team with day-to-day operations of the Studio's project management, physical inventory and their databases. They handle preparation duties that include shipping and receiving product, inventory control, labeling samples, and unpacking and prepping merchandise for photography. They will work side-by-side with photographers, client account services and stylists, assisting in the selection of garments and styling of product on set. They should have an eye for fashion, and a desire for a career in digital photography or videography as well as a passion for cultural trends and an energetic work ethic.

Responsibilities:

• Management of several Access and web-based databases that contain inbound, in progress and completed work requests
• Produce and attach tracking labels to products.
• Reconcile any shipment discrepancies and alert client specific personnel.
• Work with photo team and facilities personnel to dispose of samples once photography is complete.
• Unpack and transport product to sets.
• Prepare samples for shoots including assembly, steaming and pressing.
• Pack up and document outbound product, generate shipping labels and schedule shipment pickup.
• Assist Stylists and Photographers with the styling of samples for photography or video.
• Coordinate apparel and merchandise product.
• Study and learn client styling guides and procedures and stay current on these guidelines.
• Take direction from stylist or photographer.
• Apply knowledge of current industry trends.
• Return completed product to proper location for return to client.
• Ensure garments, accessories and styling supplies are cleaned and organized after every shoot.

Requirements:

• .5-2 years of experience as retail sales associate or stock-room clerk, associate producer or production assistant.
• High level of attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer competency (MS Word, Excel, email, etc)
• Background in product styling or merchandising
• Experience working as a retail sales associate or stock-room clerk
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced deadline oriented business
• Strong styling judgment and sense of fashion.
• Ability to recognize styling trends.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team.
• Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.
• Familiarity with photography and video production is desirable.
• H.S. Diploma or Associates degree
