Jr Graphic Designer: Contract

Position Summary:
The Associate Designer is responsible for providing production support to his/her Team. This includes, but is not limited to, performing production edits, participating in generating solutions to design challenges, assisting in the preparation of materials for presentations and reviews, both print and electronic. He/she also plays a role in applying design concepts, and will proactively develop design solutions to satisfy marketing objectives. This individual may attend internal creative reviews (ICRs) to observe creative being presented and evaluated. They will assume accountability for assigned projects and keep managers aware of progress. The Associate Designer will anticipate problems and opportunities and work with his/her manager to arrive at a resolution. He/she will work to develop strategic, creative and technical skills through day to day projects. They will fully understand Staples brand standards and apply them appropriately to create visual solutions that meet business and user needs and maintain brand continuity. The Associate Designer will recognize when creative is not on strategy and will work with Agency partners to resolve issues and develop solutions. The Associate Designer must be versatile in multiple types of marketing communications and possess the ability to move quickly and comfortably between projects while maintaining timely, accurate and high-quality work.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities: %Time

1. Work with Agency teams to produce graphic design solutions for Tier 3 and some Tier 2. Ensure brand standards are met, for print and online. Translate creative concepts into end product. Use graphic design skill sets that include an eye for layout, typography, color, brand integrity and to messaging hierarchy and content readability. 30%
2. Provide daily production support for CSS and Agency, this includes, the use of publishing tools, prepress, imaging, edits, versioning, assisting in the preparation of materials for presentations and reviews, for both print and electronic) 30%
3. Support team collaboration, commitment and enthusiasm that results a team that is committed to each other and supporting the Agency. 20%
4. Move quickly between multiple jobs while maintaining consistent levels of creative and ensuring production standards are met. Flexibility in managing and prioritizing high workload volume, ensure critical milestones dates are met.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
2-4 years work experience.
