Jr. Communications Coordinator

Our client is a large real estate development company looking to add a Junior Communications Coordinator to their Public Relations team. This role will be hired on a contract to hire basis as they intend to find a long-term team member! The right candidate for this job will have 1-3 years of communications writing experience for internal or external purposes, and a willingness to learn and grow!

Responsibilities:

​-Monitor all mentions of company name in print, online and broadcast media 
-Alert team immediately of any mentions that may affect customers or business directly 
-Produce media coverage summary reports surrounding special campaigns or topics and on quarterly basis for Board of Directors meeting 
-Compile all competitors earnings coverage and assist with production of quarterly analysis document 30 Editorial copy writing 
-Assist with writing of staff and divisional executive biographies, fact sheets, other divisional items as needed 
-Assist with other copy writing needs—Facebook/Twitter posts, divisional copy needs, award applications, etc. 
-Answering, monitoring and responding appropriately to incoming calls on the PR phone line 
-Monitoring and managing emails to the PR email inbox 
-Assisting with photo or info requests received by Communications Directors 
-Research and gather info on potential media opportunities 
-Research and create new media outreach lists for special projects, divisional outreach, etc. to be used by Communications Directors and Manager 
-Assist Department head with travel coordination, planning Internal communications support 
-Work with team to gather and create content for new internal communications plan, interaction with divisions 
-Provide media coverage to post to intranet for employees 

Qualifications: 
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field required 
- 1-3 years in-house corporate experience in Communications/PR and/or Marketing 
- Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to take complex concepts and communicate succinctly and accurately; Ability to develop consistent “voice” for the company along with Communications Manager 
- Strong eye for detail and accuracy in all communications, particularly all that is outward-facing; this person, along with all members of the Communications team is a representative of the company and our brand 
- Ability to prioritize and complete work in a timely manner 
- Desire to acquire knowledge in all aspects of communications, public relations and marketing in order to achieve organizational objectives and ultimately strengthen our brand 
- Base understanding of and interest in public relations dynamics, customer, audience and requirements as well as potential effects and implications of media coverage/inquiries 
- Strong project management skills 
- A demonstrated ability to work creatively and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and to respond immediately to issues 

Work Requirements: 
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner with corporate and divisional colleagues as well as members of the media, supplier partners, business partners and customers in order to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company
