Jr. Art Director / Studio Designer

Our client, an agency in Boston, is looking to build out and strengthen their creative department. They are looking for a temp to perm Junior Art Director with skill, enthusiasm and eagerness. Someone to work across all mediums on all accounts and help to elevate the quality of work.

The Studio Designer is responsible for layout, file prep, and final release of print ads, direct mail pieces, OOH, broadcast elements, and more. Required to prepare files for production while adhering to clients' strict brand standards, and while working directly with creatives, copy editors, production, and account executives to meet required criteria.

Must have solid understanding of pre-press and vendor proceudures. A basic understading of web and digital design and file prep is ideal. Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize heavy workloads based on deliverables and timing. An eye for design is a must, as the Studio Designer lends support to creative teams in a variety of ways, including design and/or layout of internal materials, new business support, comps, and presentation decks.

Will be tasked with contributing to quality control procedures, studio guidelines, best practices, and studio supply and device maintenance.


Creation of mechanicals for assigned clients, from comp to final release
Act as own Quality Control; ensure that all work produced is technically correct resulting in high-quality,printer- and digi-ready files
Ensure that production pieces are produced timely and with the degree of quality promised to the client
Maintain interaction with traffic, print production and creative teams as necessary
Contribute to agency library of templates, training manuals and standard practices
Remain current on industry trends and technology


Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Print Production or related field required
Solid understanding of print production, including (but not limited to) pre-press requirements, print production processes, and industry technical terms and practices
Basic understanding of digital file output and requirements for delivery to developers
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Proactive, self-managed, and confident working on multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail
Ability to problem solve
In-depth knowledge of standard studio devices such as large-format printers, Fiery RIP system, mounting/boarding and trimming tools, binding techniques, etc.
