Internal Marketing Communications Consultant

Our client's corporate communication department at our corporate headquarters in Oak Brook, has an assignment for a highly motivated, seasoned Corporate Communications Manager.

Duties include:

  • Heavy writing and editing of content for our employee, vendor and retailer intranet sites, as well
    as key corporate communications programs and initiatives.
  • Managing the communication department mailbox, which feeds online content for the company's
    employees, retailers and Ace vendors
  • The ability to link all communications to our client's business strategy and big picture
  • Developing and implementing short- and long-term employee communication plans for our
    internal business partners
  • Advising team members and departments, ensuring that overall strategic direction and
    messages are consistently incorporated into communication pieces developed for other areas of
    the company
  • Collaborating with members of the corporate communications team on group projects
  • Building and maintaining cross-functional relationships across the company and use these
    relationships to resolve issues and move projects forward in a positive manner.
  • Adapting to a fast-paced, challenging environment while supporting multiple clients at the same
  • Developing a long-term employee communication editorial calendar

    Desired Skills & Experience
  • Exceptional writing, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate broad concepts into
    understandable messages and present all of the messages in one voice on our intranets
  • Bachelor?s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field
  • Thorough knowledge of AP Style
  • At least eight years professional experience in corporate communications, media, or similar
    setting. Experience in employee communication highly preferred.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Experience managing web sites/content and understanding of web development process
  • Candidate must be organized, highly-detailed and able to maintain strict confidentiality in all
  • Experience managing print communications, including knowledge of design and printing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Comfortable using and willingness to learn new technology (Survey Monkey, Zoomerang, My
    Emma, Constant Contact, etc).
