Internal Communications Writer

A major physician practice is looking for an internal communications writer to help implement a transition Electronic Medical Records.
Length: One month, but could be extended or possibly be temp to perm
Start: 9/15

The Marketing Communications Writer will be responsible for supporting the Internal Communications Director in developing and implementing the Epic (Electronic Medical Records software) internal communications strategy and plan. He/she shall report to the Internal Communications Director and work directly with the Epic project team leads.

Essential Duties
Plans, researches, writes, edits, proof reads and produces Epic implementation communications for internal audiences in support of the communications strategy and plan (50%)

Facilitates distribution and approval of communications (20%)

Attends daily Epic project status meetings (20%)

Meets with Epic project leads to discuss communications needs (10%)

Education & Experience:
• B.S. in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism or other major requiring strong writing skills
• Three-five years of experience in marketing communications, journalism, public relations or advertising

Skills:
• Demonstrated excellent writing skills
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex issues into clear, accessible language
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills
• Demonstrated listening and note-taking skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated experience with copy editing and proofreading
• Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines
