Internal Communications Specialist

The Communications Specialist will drive the communications for the SAP implementation project to minimize employee resistance and maximize engagement. This role is part of the Transition Management Team (also known as Change Management) that is responsible for enabling the organization to successfully prepare for and adopt the SAP system/processes. This role will report to the Transition Management Director. He / She will be responsible for managing the Communications Plan and driving the completion of the tactics within the plan. It will be important for this person to understand how to understand the needs of various audiences (program team, leadership, different global regions, and the organization as a whole) and to leverage multiple channels of communication to reach them (eNewsletters, internal websites, PowerPoint presentations, executive speaking notes, emails, posters, etc.). We are looking for someone who has demonstrated expertise in writing compelling and engaging messages, thrives in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines, has a well-organized approach to managing and executing his/her work, and is adept at developing relationships. Specific responsibilities include:

Manage Communications Plan

  • Work with SAP program team to understand key audiences, including their expectations and concerns, levels of commitment, and ability to influence the change throughout the organization.
  • Work with the Transition Management Director to fully understand the SAP program’s Global Communications strategy.
  • Incorporate elements of the strategy into the individual tactics and activities within the communications plan
  • Manage, add to, and drive the established “Communications Plan”
  • Maintain the Program Brand Core Materials (templates) and own the overall program overview information.

    Execute Communications

  • Build partnerships with program team members and Converse employees to identify and develop key messages based on stakeholder expectations and concerns
  • Complete the communications development and review process, including:
  • Gather and identify content
  • Develop compelling message / materials
  • Manage review cycle
  • Distribute messages
  • Strong PowerPoint skills to create and edit presentations
  • Evaluate stakeholder communications and adjust “Communications and Engagement Plan” as needed.

    Assist with Change Network

    As part of the Transition Management approach, we will be implementing a “Change Network” which is a group of team members from across the organization who will help champion the communications and work of the program team. This role will work with Transition Management Director to prepare, implement, and support the Change Network; ensure the Change Network understands its role during the change process; monitor its effectiveness, and make adjustments as necessary.
