One of Aquent’s valued Energy clients in San Francisco is seeking a dynamic candidate for an Internal Communications Specialist contract role. The ideal candidate is someone who has exceptional written communication skills, can think on their feet and is looking for an opportunity to grow their career within a Fortune 25 company. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree or strong proof of equivalent work experience.

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for creating, and coordinating internal communications for the company's Energy Solutions.

· Creating and executing internal communications plan(s)
· Developing and publishing biweekly e-newsletter
· Researching, interviewing and writing intranet stories to illuminate business wins, explain safety and business compliance requirements, and clarify our business model/structure
· Crafting monthly and periodic executive messages
· Developing frontline leadership engagement materials for cascading key messages
· Creating quarterly town hall PowerPoint deck and logistics
· Supporting ad hoc business initiatives, and incorporating required communications
· Leading a monthly Communicators Forum meeting to share best practices, advise other colleagues who generate communications, and synchronize efforts where possible
· Work collaboratively across all levels of the business, from executive leaders to non-management employees, to gather information, analyze it and create messages, articles, stories, white papers, etc.
· Respond to miscellaneous requests to produce related written materials (white papers, position papers, messages) or presentations
· Bring general communications expertise and experience to the job in order to help establish and improve high caliber communications infrastructure and content
· Occasionally playing role of project manager, in terms of coordinating content from other writer resources
· Collaborating and synchronizing with other communication professionals across the broader corporate enterprise (for example: working with corporate intranet content manager to influence decisions about placing stories about our operating company on the corporate intranet/internet sites)

· Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
· Have the ability to understand business strategies and goals in order to create supporting communications that help engage and inspire the company’s workforce
· Have proven experience in communicating business strategies, objectives and goals to a broad workforce
· Have Microsoft Office proficiency, including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
· Work well with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner, building upon the team’s reputation for creating positive communications solutions and outcomes that solve business problems and engage colleagues
· Must be resourceful and operate according to the firm code of conduct and ethics, always doing things safely, appropriately, professionally and the right way
