Internal Communications Specialist

AQUENT is seeking an Internal Communication Specialist for an exciting role in the RVA!

This role requires these strengths in both ability and willingness: interpersonal communications skills, working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, curiosity and desire to learn, managing details, performing routine tasks as well as coordinating strategic projects.

Responsibilities
Content Publisher:
• Publish bi-weekly email newsletters
• Post news on internal web pages/intranet
• Write/edit news content for publishing
• Manage weekly editorial content trafficking
• Design, layout and publish and maintain/edit internal web pages for clients
• Work in accordance with corporate Brand style and web standards
• Create graphics/images as needed and manage image library
• Edit and produce short videos
• Consult with clients periodically to determine requirements and deliver results
• Proactively research/suggest content for intranet, newsletter and related content.

Administrator:
• Manage department folder structure in internal document storage system
• Manage and maintain department photo and graphic library
• Download and record online web traffic metrics
• Manage departmental distribution lists for email communications

Team environment:
• Work as key member of communications and extended teams
• Meet or exceed service levels and turnaround times to clients, proactively make recommendations to improve service levels or redesign processes
• Attend team meetings and provide project status updates
• Contribute to team brainstorming on challenges and new opportunities
• Represent team at corporate Technology/Pulse meetings for web managers and share updates with team

Required Skills
• Ability to prioritize and complete tasks independently
• Ability to respond positively and effectively to requests from teammates and clients
• Ability to manage deadlines and production scheduling on numerous, concurrent projects
• Willingness to perform routine tasks as well as coordinate strategic projects
• Ability to facilitate meetings with teammates and clients
• Desire to learn the business and engage with teammates and clients as a key resource
• Innate sense of curiosity and desire to share learnings and provide proactive suggestions to improve communications

Technical Skills (Preferred, but not required)
• Proficient in managing Web content management systems
• Understanding of the elements of good design, HTML production and web process
• Understanding of graphic design/Photoshop
• Understanding of basic HTML
• Knowledge of Web usability best practices
• Ability and desire to learn new systems/processes

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3+ years professional experience in related positions
