Internal Communications Specialist

AQUENT is seeking an Internal Communications Specialist for an exciting opportunity in Richmond, VA!

In this position you will have the opportunity to help deliver on the department’s agenda to enable associates to excel, dramatically simplify how we do work, capture massive leverage through digital innovation, while developing and implementing leadership communications plans and executing communications tactics. This role requires problem solving with strong interpersonal communications skills; exceptional writing skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a group.

Responsibilities:

Provide communications support to Leaders, including:
• Management and execution of existing Leadership Communications strategies for several leaders
• Agenda and content for upcoming leader town halls
• Leadership communications, i.e. business partner updates, blogs, team messaging
• Additional consulting as needed

Support horizontal communications coordination for the 1,000 associates, including:
•Write general news stories for communications channels
•Conduct phone and in-person interviews to gather and check facts and quotes for stories
•Attend Communications weekly team meetings, providing updates on assignments and brainstorming ideas on stories and new projects
Create PowerPoint presentations for client meetings and local channels

Qualifications:
•4-year degree in related study
•2-3 years professional experience in communications
•Experience and success in managing work-streams or projects
•Ability to manage relationships through excellent verbal and written communication, as well as through negotiation
•Excellent problem solving skills
•Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate a variety of work and tasks with attention to detail
•Ability to manage projects and assigned tasks through to completion
•Ability to communicate with accuracy, clarity and consistency through excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent self-editing and proofreading skills, preparing materials in near-final format quickly

Technical Knowledge:
MS Word - 3+, MS Excel - 3+, MS PowerPoint - 3+
