Interior/Furniture Designer (retail stores)
Contract, Six Months
Rate: $25-30hr

Join the leading global coffee retailer HQ'd in Seattle for an immediate project within Store Development! This job contributes to client's success by assisting the Americas Concept Design Team in the development of Store Design Concepts and Initiatives, including new programs, prototypes, and catalogue items. Candidates should be passionate about design and creative, out-of-the-box thinking. The work delivered from this team directly contributes to the design of outstanding stores that upholds the Client's Customer Experience.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY ROLE
- Develops design concepts. This can be anything from a holistic store layout to a concept for interior scheme, furniture items, or materials palette. Research and exploration are important to this role. Sketches and presents concepts and ideas at a rapid pace via by hand or through tools such as SketchUp. Creates conceptional, study, technical drawings for interiors and design objects including furniture, casework. Assemble clean and coherent presentation decks, including strong narrative.
-Responsible for managing specific components for large projects
Provide clear effective and timely communication of design direction and changes to consultants and/or team members.
- Work with cross functional team to ensure design direction is reviewed and approved by manager. Identify direction, exceptions, propose design solutions and resolve with manager.
-manage to a timeline and deadlines in context of larger project
- Documents and disseminates information about key learnings and best practices to team members.
- CAD standards and detail changes. Archives completed drawings, redlines, etc.
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality

Summary of Experience
- Management of various design projects and operations 3 years
- Experience working in interior design of retail, hospitality, residential or restaurant design or development organization 3 years
- AutoCAD, Revit, Microstation programs experience 3 years
- SketchUp and/or 3D Studio Max for 3D models 3 years
- Adobe Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign software 3 years
- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, and/or Furniture Design

- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
